A new video the Department of Defense just released shows the moment that the weapon known as the “mother of all bombs” detonated in Afghanistan in a strike against Islamic State militants on Thursday.

The attack marked the first time that the weapon, the United States’ largest non-nuclear bomb, was used in combat. Up to 36 Islamic State militants were reportedly killed in the attack, which targeted caves and tunnels.

The 21,600 pound bomb, a GBU-43, was dropped in the eastern province of Naghar, which borders Pakistan.
