Former MTV reality star Danny Dias, who appeared on “Road Rules” and “The Challenge,” has died, People confirmed. He was 34.

Dias’ body was reportedly found in his Brooklyn apartment on Saturday after friends became concerned when they hadn’t heard from him.

Days before, Dias had allegedly taken what a friend believed to be LSD or mushrooms and “freaked out” before retreating to his room, according to TMZ, which first broke the news of his death. The friend then left the apartment and later tried to contact Dias, but received no response.

When police arrived at the scene, Dias was reportedly unconscious and unresponsive. He was pronounced dead shortly after, but his official cause of death has yet to be revealed.

A New Jersey native, Dias attended the Westminster Choir College of Rider University, where he majored in music education before embarking on a career in reality TV. He first appeared on Season 13 of “Road Rules” in 2004, becoming one of the few openly gay contestants on the reality competition series. The next year, Dias participated in “The Challenge,” but was quickly eliminated.
