My First Network Comedy Appearance: It's Time for Me to <i>StandUp In Stilettos</i>

"Women aren't funny!" We have heard that sentiment time and time again. As a matter of fact, one of the things I hate most about performing stand-up is when a guy comes up to me after a show and says "You are so funny... for a girl!"

I know for a fact that women are funny and deserve an opportunity to showcase their talent. I also recognize that the comedy business is tough for everyone, no matter what gender you are. But the truth of the matter is, many times really talented women are overlooked just because they are women. It's not fair!

The TV Guide Network has set out to show just how funny women are with their new original series StandUp in Stilettos, and I am so excited to be one of the comedians they are showcasing. I am even more proud because this is my first time ever doing a stand-up comedy set on TV. Somebody pinch me, please!

StandUp in Stilettos, which premiered on June 16, 2012 consists of 10 original half-hour episodes featuring familiar faces and rising stars on the comedy circuit today. Hosted by Kate Flannery from The Office, each show will include three stand-up comediennes whose acts feature material for, by and about women.

The show features some of the funniest women on the comedy scene today such as Gina Yashere, Helen Hong, Erin Jackson, Jamie Lee, Frangela, Alycia Cooper, Jessica Kirson, MIchelle Buteau Lynne Koplitz, and Rachel Feinstein just to name a few.

So make sure you tune in this Saturday 6/30 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT to watch me and some very hilarious woman light up the stage.
