NBC Has Another Live Musical In The Works (VIDEO)

NBC Is Already Working On Another Live Musical

Although we just said so long and farewell to Carrie Underwood, "Sound Of Music Live!" fans are already demanding another live musical. And NBC is granting their wish.

“All weekend, people have been calling us and e-mailing us," NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt told the New York Times. "Rights holders of musicals have said, ‘Please do one of our shows.’ We’re excited to try it again ... there’s enough to do a handful of these over the next years ... I think we could do this again -- and again and again.”

“We worked on this one for at least 18 months,” he added. “Now that we have done it once, we don’t need 18 months again. We know a lot about how to do it.”

It certainly makes sense that NBC would be up for the idea of another live musical production. Last week's 3-hour special brought in 18.47 million viewers, making it the network's biggest non-sports Thursday audience since the "Fraiser" season finale in 2004.
