Finally, someone said it! Neil Patrick Harris stopped by "Watch What Happens: Live" and apologized for how big of a downer the Emmys were this year. NPH hosted the show in September, but he was't the one bringing the mood low. There were five separate breakout in-memoriam speeches, and then the regular one for everyone else.
"Cory Monteith’s death was a big deal, and [James] Gandolfini’s death was a big deal," Harris said. "I thought Edie Falco talking about Gandolfini was a really effective moment on the show, but it made everyone get really sad and then it was my job to bring it all back up. So, I think probably we should’ve condensed that and done it as one little moment.”
At least he won't have to stress about those kinds of decisions anymore. Harris Tweeted that he's done hosting awards shows for now. He's probably too busy anyway, with his work on the final season of "How I Met Your Mother" and preparing for his return to Broadway in "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" early next year.
