Chris Arnade's Portraits Of The New York City Cyclist (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: New Yorkers And Their Sweet Rides

Bikes in New York are as varied as the New Yorkers who ride them. There are the low-riders of the Big Ballers Bike Club in East New York, the classic riders in Bushwick, the souped-up Schwinns of the PA-LA LOMA bike club, the fixed gears of bike messengers, and many more.

It can be a hazardous hobby in the city (bike theft, the NYPD, obstructed bike lanes, cars) but it's one many New Yorkers treasure.

Chris Arnade-- the photographer who we last visited in his photos of New York's most dangerous zip code--has photographed cyclists across the city, focusing on outlying neighborhoods in the outer boroughs.

To read the thorough captions Arnade provides for the photos below, please check out his Flickr page here.

When he isn't snapping portraits and interviewing strangers, Arnade is a full-time banker living in Brooklyn Heights. You can follow him on Twitter here and on Facebook here.
