Former New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez is stepping into a new role at ABC News as a contributor, Variety reported Sunday.

That means viewers may soon be able to spot Jennifer Lopez’s boyfriend on shows including “Good Morning America” and “World News Tonight,” according to the New York Post’s Page Six, which first reported the news.

He’ll also still be serving as a Fox Sports contributor, so A-Rod may soon be an inescapable commenting presence on cable and network television.

Rodriguez, 41, reportedly wants to step outside the realm of sports to offer his thoughts on a variety of lifestyle topics, including finances and family life. According to Variety, his Fox contract could prohibit him from talking sports except on non-sport-centric shows like “GMA.”

There’s been no word on the Rodriguez-led CNBC pilot ordered back in January, “Back in the Game,” a reality show about cash-strapped former athletes.

Rodriguez, whose baseball career was marred by scandal involving performance-enhancing drugs, retired in August after the Yankees released the former MVP from his contract.

“That was the Yankees’ decision and I am at peace with it,” he said at the time.
