Nikki Haley On Republican Vice Presidential Prospects: 'I'd Say Thank You But No'

Nikki Haley Addresses VP Prospects

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R), an early and enthusiastic supporter of Mitt Romney, has attracted plenty of speculation as a possible pick for vice president.

But in an interview with ABC's "Nightline," Haley said she wouldn't accept a spot on the ticket even if one was offered.

"I'd say, 'Thank you, but no,'" she said. "I made a promise to the people of this state. And I think that promise matters. And I intend to keep it."

She had previously been more noncommittal about her future, telling radio host Mike Gallagher last year, "I think I am very aware that I am the flavor of the month, which is what happens in politics. And I will tell you, they need to focus on the top of the ticket."

Haley isn't the only possible VP prospect who says she wouldn't take the job. Check out some likely candidates, and their reactions:
