Parading Through The Summer: A Look At 2011's Carnivals And Bacchanals

The West Indian Day Parade, an annual Labor Day tradition in New York City, brings millions of people out in Brooklyn to play mas and to revel. The bacchanal, in its 43rd year, is just one of a host of regular cultural festivals held each summer around the world, from Toronto's Caribana to London's Notting Hill Carnival, the largest street festival in Europe.
