One Direction has released their new song, "Perfect," which, aside from being catchy, is very likely about Harry Styles' relationship with Taylor Swift.

Let's examine the evidence!

Swift and Styles were connected back in late 2012 and early 2013, and since then, Swift has released many a song rumored to be about their relationship -- most notably "Style" on her most recent album "1989."

A lyrical sampling from "Style":

Midnight, you come and pick me up / No headlights / Long drive, could end in burning flames or paradise / Fade into view, it's been a while since I have even heard from you / I should just tell you to leave cause I / Know exactly where it leads but I / Watch us go 'round and 'round each time

Main takeaway:

Swift and Styles had a kind of intense relationship that might've lacked boundaries, fueled by exhilarating midnight drives.

A lyrical sampling from One Direction's new "Perfect":

If you like midnight driving with the windows down / And if you like going places we can't even pronounce / If you like to do whatever you've been dreaming about / Baby, you're perfect

And later:

And if you're looking for someone to write your breakup songs about / Baby, I'm perfect / Baby, we're perfect

Main takeaway:

These midnight drives must have been charged.

Conclusion:

Styles and Swift had what sounds like a mentally infuriating but emotionally intoxicating situation plucked straight out of a '90s teen movie, or everyone's romantic dreams.

Remaining questions:

Is love only good when it's bad?
