Ever the optimist, Brooke never gave up hope that her father would come through and attend the baptism of her babies. "One Tree Hill" (Wed., 8 p.m. EST on The CW) returned for its 13-episode swan song with an opening that teased a crazy ride for the cast in this final season. But all that is in episodes to come.
For now, Brooke and Julian were juggling their professional lives with trying to juggle two little bundles of joy. And while the ever-elusive Ted wasn't present when they made it to the church for the baptism, Brooke pleaded with the priest to wait a few more moments. She needn't have bothered, though, as her father Ted showed up with a wink and a joke as if it wasn't a big deal that he actually showed up for something.
"It's like seeing a Bigfoot," Haley whispered to Victoria, who couldn't resist getting in a few zings at her ex-husband's expense. In fact, the two of them were so catty right away, there was clearly some unresolved issues there. Issues that might have to be resolved before the season and series runs its course, perhaps.
