28 Outfit Ideas... From 14 Items Of Clothing (PHOTOS)

It's so easy!

Some people think that you need lots of clothes to have a varied wardrobe, but that's far from the case. All you need are a few basics, a print or two, some killer accessories, and you can create outfit after outfit.

To put this theory to the test, we gave ourselves a challenge. We tried to create four weeks worth of ensembles -- 28 days of outfits! -- using only fourteen garments. It may sound difficult, but it's actually quite easy to mix and match items that are probably already in your closet. The key is to work around your basics: Black jeans, pencil skirts, pull-over sweaters and the like provide a versatile base, which easily allow you to mix in a printed blouse or a patterned dress.

Below are the items we selected for our 28 Outfit Challenge:

Accessories are crucial when you're trying to get the most mileage out of your closet -- a clutch can easily take a dress from day to night, as can a pair of heels. And don't forget: A statement necklace can totally transform your look.
