Palin's Pie Spy Business Revealed In New Financial Filing

Sarah Palin is the owner of a small marketing business called "Pie Spy" that was founded during her last few months as Alaska governor, according to financial records released on Tuesday.

Pie Spy is described as a business involving "Services for the Elderly and Persons with Disabilities" in documents filed with the Alaska Department of Commerce. According to the Anchorage Daily News, the LLC's address is that of Palin's Anchorage lawyer Thomas Van Flein.

Pie Spy is listed in the same disclosure statement that revealed Palin's $1.25 million advance from HarperCollins for her upcoming memoir Going Rogue. The filing covers her family's finances from Jan. 1 to July 27, her last months in office.

Politico's Ben Smith reports that Pie Spy was incorporated in March and that Palin's spokeswoman Meg Stapleton and lawyer Thomas Van Flein did not respond to questions about the business.
