The Onion: Excitement Growing Among Beatles Fans For Paul McCartney's Funeral

WATCH: Beatles Fans Anticipate Paul McCartney's Funeral

"Paul Is Dead" may have been an urban legend in the late sixties, but today the inevitable death of Sir Paul McCartney is cause for pre-mourning celebration, according to Onion News Network. In a recent report, fans across the world can barely contain their eagerness to someday joyously hold a vigil for the late Beatle.

Perhaps in anticipation for the 30th anniversary of band mate John Lennon's death tomorrow, which hopefully unlike Macca's demise was an unexpected and tragic event, ONN gets testimonials from soon-to-be fans of the death of the "Cute Beatle." Just as his songs with The Beatles, Wings, and as as solo artist remain part of our cultural consciousness, Sir Paul's funeral and subsequent tributes will be equally timeless. "Let It Be," "Yesterday," and "Maybe I'm Amazed" will surely hold new meaning when earnestly and dutifully sung together with friends, family and acquaintances at remembrances in honor of McCartney's passing, at some point.

Sir Paul McCartney was 68 at the time of his pre-mourning.
