Amateur video captured the tower's disintegration as onlookers screamed and scrambled to avoid the chaos. The church crumbles like a sandcastle at the start of the video, demonstrating the massive force of the quake.

Tuesday's earthquake claimed at least 144 lives. An additional 300 people were injured.
