Teacher Pink Slip Anxiety Increases Along With Budget Cuts

While failing test scores, disobedient children and access to basic classroom resources are now constant causes for public school teachers to worry, many educators now list fear of the dreaded pink slip as one of the biggest drawbacks to the profession.

NPR reports recent estimates from the American Association of School Administrators reveal that approximately a quarter-million educators could get laid off in the coming year alone as school districts attempt to balance their budgets.

NPR's Larry Abramson had the chance to speak with two Los Angeles teachers whose job uncertainty is a daily struggle.
