Antin will read from her recent memoir "Conversations with Stalin" and Forti will read poetry selections from "Handbook in Motion, Oh, Tongue," her upcoming book "The Bear in the Mirror," and new unpublished material. Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Karl Haendel: Informal Family Blackmail

Opening reception for an installation of new drawings, a book, and a film by artist Karl Haendel. "Informal Family Blackmail" explores the themes of insecurity, doubt, regret, and family relationships. On view through June 28, 2012.

Ends of the Earth: Land Art to 1974

Opening day of a new exhibition that will focus on the emergence of land art in the 1960s and highlight the early years of artistic experimentations in this realm. The retrospective will conclude in the mid-1970s, before land art became a fully institutionalized category. On view through August 20, 2012.

LACMA (Miracle Mile)

Admission to LACMA will be free for attendees of all ages on Memorial Day. The museum will host bilingual tours, programs, and live music by George Kahn's Jazz and Blues Revue on the plaza at 12:30 p.m.
