SATURDAY, OCTOBER 2
Free Community Weekend at LACMA
LACMA (Mid-Wilshire)
11am-8pm
To celebrate the opening of the Lynda and Stewart Resnick Exhibition Pavilion and its three inaugural exhibitions - Olmec: Colossal Masterworks of Ancient Mexico; Fashioning Fashion: European Dress in Detail, 1700-1915, and Eye for the Sensual: Selections from the Resnick Collection, for the weekend of October 2nd and 3rd, LACMA opens its doors free to the public. On Saturday at noon, enjoy live Latin Music by Plaza de la Raza Youth Mariachi Ensemble, Angel Lebron y Su Sabor Latio and Quetzal in Hancock Park. On Sunday, the park will host storytelling, and family art workshops will be held in the north piazza of the museum.

Eagle Rock Music Festival

The Center for the Arts, Eagle Rock presents the 12th annual Eagle Rock Music Festival, with performances by The Submarines, Wait.Think.Fast, Lucky Dragons, Pay the Man featuring Raymond Pettibon and more. Admission is $5.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 3
Asian Extravaganza
Royal/T (Culver City)
4-7pm
LACMA's East Asian Art Council presents a cocktail party of Japanese, Chinese and Korean culture and entertainment. The evening will include a silent auction, Korean Dance Academy Performance, AniMaids and more. RSVP to vmholterman@lacma.org, all proceeds will support the East Asian Art Council.

Robert Henke: Monolake Live
REDCAT (Downtown)

REDCAT presents the world premiere of composer and sound artist Robert Henke's latest work, Monolake Live. Henke is known as both the co-creator of the Ableton Live software and for his influence on contemporary club culture.
