Wrote this poem this morning dedicated to victims of police brutality.

When will we receive Justice?
When we do more than writing
Facebook statuses for likes
When we sacrifice our lives
When we organize and fight

When will we receive Justice?
When we learn to come together
Justice is a real heifer to get her
We have to love her more and
Work towards something better

When will we receive justice?
When we apply knowledge to our minds like we
apply apps to our phones
When we learn to understand that America
is not our home
Because when you know a place is not your home then
you act like a guest
You don't over stay your welcome
You build your own homes and then you demand respect

When will we receive justice?
When we have confidence like Malcolm X
When we have courage like Ali
When we float like a butterfly when we sting like a bee
When we hold onto our roots before we end up hanging from the tree
Because they eat our fruits but not our truth and then they still kill us and go free

When will we receive Justice?
When we don't wait for it to be received
When we take what is ours it will one day be achieved

When will we even see justice?
When we get on our knees and beg God
and tell God I need justice!

When will we receive Justice?
When hash tags, are not a result of a dead unarmed Black man
When little black boys don't have R.I.P to my father who
was shot shot by the police written
All over their back packs

When we will we receive justice?
When all races in humanity
Fight with us to make All lives matter a reality
Instead of just saying All lives matter in the face of our calamity

When will we receive justice?
When it is something we believe.
Justice will happen. Justice will be achieved.

My thoughts are with the families who have lost lives nothing can compensate for that lost.
I pray that God relieves your pain and blesses you with the justice you deserve.
