Tips For Treating Outdoor Hazards

With Memorial Day only a little over a week away, summer is ready to make its debut. And while longer days and warmer weather can make all of us healthier and more active, the season also comes with a few potential outdoor hazards.

Among the most common are bee stings, poison ivy and mosquito bites, Ladies Home Journal’s health director Julie Bain told BetterTV.com’s anchor Rhiannon Ally.

Oftentimes these outdoor problems are merely uncomfortable hassles that can be treated with tried and true over the counter treatments, or even home remedies (like applying dish detergent immediately to poison ivy or using a credit card to remove a bee sting). But there are instances when each of these can turn into a warm weather emergency.
