Progressive Change Campaign Committee Pats Self On Back For Elizabeth Warren's Campaign

Progressives Pat Selves On Back Over Elizabeth Warren

Progressives are patting themselves on the back for getting on the Elizabeth Warren bandwagon even before she did.

That's because a year ago, when Warren's campaign was still not much more than a gleam in Sen. Chuck Schumer's (D-N.Y.) eye, the Progressive Change Campaign Committee launched the "Draft Warren" movement.

Democrats probably would have gotten Warren up and running against Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) anyway, but the the PCCC folks are crowing that they've helped close the massive fundraising lead Brown had, from about $10 million a year ago to $2 million in the latest campaign reports. (Warren had $13.5 million to Brown's $15.5 million.)

"We donated over $800,000 to Warren's campaign -- average donation: $17!," the PCCC team said in an email Thursday. "We threw house parties for her across Massachusetts. And The Nation magazine named Draft Warren 'Best Campaign of 2011.' "

And of course, they're looking to raise more.

"On this anniversary, can you help Elizabeth Warren continue her momentum and continue inspiring a nation?" the email says.
