Questions Surround Mayor's Courtside Lakers Seats

Mayor Villaraigosa is facing scrutiny over his recent courtside appearances at Lakers playoff games. MyFoxLA reports: "When Villaraigosa goes to Lakers game, he gets attention on television and even on youtube, but what has our attention is that his seats are worth well over two-thousand bucks each and he says he gets the tickets for free."

The story angle was that the tickets are not reported on the mayor's gift disclosure forms, and that if they're a gift of Staples Center he can't legally accept them (or any gift) because arena owner AEG lobbies the city. The mayor told [Fox 11's John Schwada] that at the last game he was a guest of his "friend" Jeffrey Katzenberg, and insists that because he's at the game in an official capacity the tickets don't have to be reported as gifts.
