Rand Paul Featured In Robocall For Todd Akin

Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.) is getting some last-minute support from Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), the libertarian-leaning son of Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas). Politico reports that Paul is featured in a new robocall in which he touts Akin's conservative credentials and opposition to President Barack Obama's signature achievements.

"Todd Akin has stood up to the Washington establishment, and I know that when he gets to Washington he will stand with me and vote to repeal Obamacare," Paul says on the call, which was paid for by the Akin campaign.

Akin's support has been dwindling since his comments about "legitimate rape" in August. The Huffington Post also reported on Sunday that Akin was arrested at anti-abortion protests on four more occasions than had been previously disclosed.

Sen. Paul is among the few incumbent politicians who continue to publicly support Akin in his race against Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.).
