Rep. Lamborn Tar-Baby Comment Lands On Olbermann's 'Worst Persons In The World'

After Rep. Doug Lamborn's (R-Colo.) recent "tar baby" gaffe on the Caplis and Silverman radio show and his subsequent written apology to President Obama, many would chalk the episode up to inept political maneuvering and move on. Not Keith Olbermann. Olbermann highlighted Lamborn's comment in his 'Worst Person in the World' segment last night.

Regarding working with Obama and the debt ceiling debate, Lamborn said earlier this week:

“Even if some people say, ‘Well the Republicans should have done this or they should have done that,’ they will hold the President responsible. Now, I don’t even want to have to be associated with him. It’s like touching a tar baby and you get it, you’re stuck, and you’re a part of the problem now and you can’t get away.”

Despite the written apology in which Lamborn apologized "for using a term some find insensitive," Olbermann fires back, "no, no, craphead, it's a term that is insensitive. Racially insensitive. Tar-baby has been used as an insult to black people continuously since the 1880s."
