Ricky Martin Joins The Cast Of Versace-Focused 'American Crime Story'

La vida Versace.

Ricky Martin has just been cast in the third season of Ryan Murphy’s “American Crime Story” anthology series, which will focus on the assassination of fashion designer Gianni Versace.

Martin will play Antonio D’Amico, Versace’s longtime partner, according to Cinema Blend. The singer has worked with Murphy before, appearing on his musical high school TV show “Glee” as a sexy Spanish teacher.

The “She Bangs” singer joins the already impressive cast, which includes Édgar Rarmirez as Versace, Penélope Cruz as the designer’s sister Donatella and Darren Criss as the killer Andrew Cunanan. It’s been noted that Donatella isn’t a fan of D’Amico in real life, so it will be interesting to see how that plays into the storyline. (Maybe a “Feud” series with Cruz and Martin as Donatella and D’Amico should be next for Murphy?)

But before we get to see Martin in his role, we need to make it through Season 2 ― the follow-up to “The People v. O.J. Simpson.” The second season of the anthology series will focus on Hurricane Katrina and its devastating aftermath in New Orleans. Matthew Broderick and Annette Bening have already been cast.

“Versace: American Crime Story” will reportedly begin shooting something this month and is expected to air in 2018, shortly after “Katrina.”

Correction: Previously, this article referenced “American Horror Story” instead of “American Crime Story” in the first sentence.
