Student Snaps, Is Tasered During 'Cato' Performance

On Monday night, a Utah Valley University student interrupted a play, broke a prop, got Tasered and eventually arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Fletcher reportedly disrupted an outdoor performance of "Cato" and was asked to leave the courtyard where actors were performing. Instead, Fletcher decided to snatch a prop spear and snap it, police said.

Police then used a stun gun on Fletcher. UVU spokesman Chris Taylor said Flecther took the "Taser hit" and began running and screaming through the audience. Eventually he ended up backstage where he was arrested, the AP reports.

Fletcher also left a dent on a police car when he slammed his head into it. According to the police report, Fletcher tried to blame a police officer for it.

The Daily Herald reports Fletcher has previous convictions on his record for assault against a police officer, providing false statements and other crimes.
