Robin Roberts Returns To 'GMA' Studios For First Time Since Bone Marrow Transplant

Robin Roberts Takes A Big Step

Robin Roberts returned to the "Good Morning America" studios on Thursday for the first time since her bone marrow transplant in September.

Roberts is undergoing a delicate process of re-entry into her normal routine, to see how her fragile immune system reacts. She recently announced that she will be returning to her regular co-hosting role in February. Before that, though, she has to reacquaint herself with the early hours and the "GMA" set.

ABC said that Roberts woke up at 3 AM, and was in the Times Square studios at 5. ABC News executive James Goldston tweeted a photo of her sitting behind the "GMA" desk.

In a statement, Roberts said it was a "thrill" to return.
