Rupert Murdoch's Speed Dial Revealed

Rupert Murdoch's Speed Dial Revealed

Many stories are told by many random objects on display at the Newseum--which I was fortunate enough to spend a few hours at yesterday, in advance of its official opening on April 11.

One of them is the phone Rupert Murdoch recently used for a few years, believe it or not, complete with an more-or-less-alphabetized speed dial list. (Judging from the execs listed on it, it looks like the list was last updated in 2005.)

Much of that list is reproduced after the jump, absent a few names I couldn't properly make out through the display case.

Trivia-on-top-of-trivia: Most everyone was identified by last name only, with the exception of his family. His children appear as James, Lachlan, and Lis. As for the two listings for WDM, I'm gonna go way out on a limb and surmise they're for his wife, Wendi Deng Murdoch.

Among a list understandably studded with News Corp executives and operating heads, it's interesting to find New York Post editor (and longtime Murdoch confidant) Col Allan.
