Sabres, Ducks Fight: Sheldon Brookbank, Tyler Myers Brawl To Conclude Ryan Miller Shutout (VIDEO)

Hockey Brawl Erupts After Game Ends

Sheldon Brookbank, Bobby Ryan and the Anaheim Ducks weren't able to get any of their shots into the back of the net against Ryan Miller and the Buffalo Sabres during a 2-0 loss on Wednesday night. That frustration at having all of their 43 shots saved by Miller bubbled over after the final horn sounded as several punches were successfully landed. A multi-player brawl erupted after Brookbank lowered a shoulder into Patrick Kaleta as time expired.

After one of the officials skated over in an attempt to subdue Brookbank, Ryan stepped in and landed a right into the face of Kaleta. And then it was on. At least 10 players converged near the Buffalo bench in a wild post-game scrum. The prominent pairing among the melee featured Brookbank and Sabres defenseman Tyler Myers, who recently broke his right wrist.

Limited to throwing lefts due to that injury, Myers didn't fare very well in this fight, according to HockeyFights.com, who scored this bout in favor of Brookbank.

Not everyone was quite as impressed, though. As the fighting dragged on, one of the announcers declared, "This is just stupid."

The shutout was the Miller's fourth clean sheet of the season for the Sabres, who are now five points adrift of the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference standings.
