San Francisco James Beard Winners 2013 Announced (PHOTOS)

And The SF James Beard Award Winners Are...

It was a good night for San Francisco.

The best of food and drink gathered at New York's Lincoln Center on Monday night for the 2013 James Beard Awards.

And from the Best New Restaurant in the country (State Bird Provisions) to the Best Chef West (Christopher Kostow at The Restaurant at Meadowood), the Bay Area hardly went home empty-handed.

"It’s an honor just to be among the nominees," said Kostow to The Huffington Post after nabbing the coveted award. "We live in an amazing region full of all the best talent and product in the world."

Locals also took home awards for Outstanding Wine Professional (Merry Edwards of Merry Edwards Winery) and Rising Star Chef of the Year (Danny Bowien of Mission Chinese Food).

And the icing on the cake: our own Michael Mina was inducted into the Who's Who of Food & Beverage in America, while local restaurateur Cecilia Chiang scored a lifetime achievement award.

Break out the bubbly, Bay Area.
