Scott Walker Attack Ad Hits Wisconsin Governor On Jobs Record

Scott Walker Attack Ad Hits Governor Over Jobs

A political ad attacking Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) is hitting the airwaves Monday, kicking off the first major ad campaign against Walker in this recall election.

The spot from the Greater Wisconsin Political Fund, a 527 organization, criticizes Walker for his jobs record. As Politico reports, the Democratic Governors Association sent $500,000 to the fund to pay for the ad.

"Most states gained jobs last year," the ad's narrator says. "But under Governor Walker, Wisconsin lost more jobs than any other state. Dead last."

Former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, a candidate in the Democratic primary for the Wisconsin governorship, released her first TV ad earlier this month, in which she indirectly criticized Walker's administration but didn't mention his name. Walker's campaign has released attack ads against Falk and another candidate, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett (D), although only the ads targeting Barrett have aired.

Wisconsin holds its primary election on May 8 and the recall election on June 5.
