Sharks Score Two Goals In Nine Seconds vs. Canucks In Game 3 (VIDEO)

That Was Fast

The San Jose Sharks went into the third period of Game 3 against Vancouver clinging to a 2-1 lead, but it only took them a matter of seconds to triple that margin.

As San Jose's power-play was winding down, Sharks center Logan Couture received a pass on the left side and moved the puck across the blue line. He fired a shot before Vancouver's defense could get set and hit the far side of the net to put San Jose up 3-1. Just seconds later, Couture gained the zone and found Patrick Marleau trailing behind him with some space to work with. Marleau made his way in between two Canucks defenders and put the puck past goaltender Cory Schneider for the Sharks' second goal in nine seconds.

"When you score goals that quick, it's tough on the bench, it's tough on the goalie," Couture said after San Jose's 5-2 win, via the Associated Press. "`It ruins his confidence a little bit. They were big goals. Patty's goal was huge to get the three-goal lead. And then the fifth one was big as well."

The Sharks lead the series 3-0 and will go for the sweep on Tuesday night.
