There's a real ingenuity to the design of the kitchen sink. (That's right, we're talking about the common kitchen sink.) The rounded, rectangular edges maximize the space; the deep basin ensures you can fit a lot of dishes; and the drain, well, the drain makes it all possible. The sink is such a well-crafted design that we don't even notice its craftiness. But it was only a matter of time that this well-conceived design was adopted for other uses, like a bowl.
Remember that time that your cereal got soggy in 0.8 seconds flat? Or the afternoon that you were eating ramen but couldn't find your noodles in all that broth? Well, with a Sink Bowl those eating woes will trouble you no longer. All you'll have to do is pull the drain.
The Sink Bowl is brought to us by product designer Sherwood Forlee (who also came up with the ingenious anti-theft lunch bag). It's made of two bowls, one resting snuggly on top of the other. The top bowl has a small hole in the center, the drain, with an adorable tiny plug. The mechanics of it is simple: when you want less liquid in your bowl, pull the plug and let it drain to the bottom basic. And just like that, you can eat your ramen noodles with ease (or enjoy non-soggy cereal for the first time in your life). While we can't attest to the practicality of this design, we do fully support its cleverness.
There's only one hiccup to this masterful creation: it's not for sale. If you want a sink bowl as badly as we want one, contact the designer and let's see if we can get this thing into production.
