The Los Angeles Nomadic Division (LAND), a non-profit art organization dedicated to curating site- and situation-specific contemporary art projects in the city, is hosting its third annual LAND Benefit Gala this weekend.
The gala will take place during LA's big art fair weekend, as Art Platform-Los Angeles takes over the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica airport. Hosted by art collectors and philanthropists Catherine and Jeffrey Soros, the soiree will raise money for LAND programming and exhibitions, such as Katie Frinnan's upcoming instrumental performance project "Astrology Orchestra."
The evening will likely be a who's who of contemporary art A-listers, as the Soros will welcome admiring celebrities like Penelope Cruz, Adrian Grenier, Joaquin Phoenix and Sharon Stone, as well as artist Honor Fraser, gallerist Thaddeus Ropac, MOCA director Jeffrey Deitch and Dasha Zhukova, the founder of The Garage Center for Contemporary Culture in Moscow. A number of artworks will also be on view as part the event's online auction. Pieces by Terence Koh, Alex Hubbard, George Herms, Hernan Bras and more will be available for final bidding, so get your fingers ready on the keyboards, kids.
Tickets are still available to the glitzy moonlight dinner, which takes place on September 29th; online bidding will be open until September 30th.
