'Skyfall' Mistakes: Latest James Bond Is the Second Most Error-Filled Movie Of The Year

The Most Mistakes Of 2012

The 2012 list of movies with the highest number of mistakes has been published by MovieMistakes.com and the much-celebrated James Bond flick, "Skyfall," is high on the list.

"Skyfall" is listed as number two on the list with 35 mistakes. The film is second only to "Men in Black III," which lists 63 mistakes. Most of the errors found in "Men in Black III" focus on continuity, such as, "J rips out the heart of the huge fish, who exhales his last breath and dies. Several shots later the fish is on a truck, alive, growling and moving wildly."

A sampling of the errors in "Skyfall" include:
  • "Just before Bond reaches the Chapel, he plunges into icy water. In the next scene, in the Chapel, he is perfectly dry."
  • "When on the motorbike on the rooftops of Istanbul, Bond at first has no sunglasses on, then sunglasses on, then no sunglasses."
  • "When Bond is fighting on top of the train at the beginning of the film, his footwear changes from black lace up shoes to black slip-on ankle boots."

The remaining three spots in the top five are all occupied by superhero movies. "The Dark Knight Rises" tied "The Amazing Spider-Man" for the number three spot, with 24 mistakes each. Box office smash "The Avengers" reached number five with 22 mistakes. The films occupying the top five spots for most mistakes are also some of the year's most profitable. "The Avengers" made box office history, making $1.5 billion worldwide. "Skyfall," which is still playing in theaters, recently jumped the $1 billion mark, and "The Dark Knight Rises" brought in just over $1 billion worldwide.
