Say what you want about Lady Gaga, but she always commits.
Ahead of her collaboration with Metallica at the 59th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, the “Joanne” singer debuted a new tattoo seemingly inspired by the band’s song “Moth Into Flame.”
Gaga shared a black-and-white photo of her new ink, which spans the width of her back, with the caption “The Moth & Metallica.” It’s unclear whether the tattoo is real or an added flair for the Grammys stage, but the hashtags #ink and #tattoo certainly lead us to believe she isn’t fooling around.
The performance will be Gaga’s first time onstage since her high-flying Super Bowl halftime show last Sunday. Earlier this week, she teased the Metallica collaboration with a photo of herself and the rockers, a group she is dubbing “MetalliGa.”
“Gonna listen to Metallica all day and party with my friends and then play with them at the Grammy’s,” she wrote.
A collector of body art, Gaga previously tattooed an image of David Bowie from the cover of his “Aladdin Sane” album on her ribcage before her 2016 Grammys tribute to the late artist. The Bowie tattoo is considerably smaller than her new ink because, of course, only Gaga can outdo Gaga.
