'Sol LeWitt: Structures 1965-2006' At City Hall Park In New York City (PHOTOS)

'Sol LeWitt: Structures, 1965-2006' is the first outdoor career survey of Sol LeWitt's sculptures--or, as he preferred to call them, "structures." The show, located in City Hall Park in New York City, includes 27 works that represent the artist throughout all the phases of his career. Several of the major works in the exhibition have never been publicly exhibited in the United States.

LeWitt has been linked to artistic movements such as Conceptual art and Minimalism, and became famous in the late 1960s for his wall drawings and the aforementioned "structures." LeWitt produced works in numerous media, and excelled in drawing, printmaking, photography and painting. LeWitt traveled in similar circles with Frank Stella, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, Eva Hesse and Robert Smithson.

The show, presented by the Public Art Fund, opened on May 24th. See it at City Hall Park, in Lower Manhattan until December 3rd. See some of the works included in the exhibit below.
