Stephanie Bongiovi's Heroin Arrest: Jon Bon Jovi's Daughter Arrested After Alleged Overdose

Bon Jovi Daughter's Overdose

Stephanie Bongiovi, the 19-year-old daughter of rocker Jon Bon Jovi, was hospitalized and is recovering following an apparent heroin overdose in her Hamilton College dorm room.

She and a friend, Ian Grant, 21, now face misdemeanor drug charges, according to police.

Police were called to the dorm at the upstate New York liberal arts college Wednesday after Bongiovi was reportedly found unresponsive. Emergency services found her alive, and authorities searched the room, finding a "small quantity" of heroin, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, TMZ reports.

Bongiovi was arrested but later released from custody. She is ordered to appear in court at a later date. Bon Jovi's management has not released a statement concerning the incident.

Stephanie Bongiovi is one of four children Jon Bon Jovi has with wife Dorothea Hurley, according to People.

Hamilton College released the following statement concerning the incident to WKTV:

"In addition to violating state law, the actions alleged to have been committed by the students violate Hamilton College policy. The college is cooperating with the police investigation. Our first concern is always for the safety of our students. Out of respect for the privacy of our students and in accordance with federal regulations we do not discuss individual health or disciplinary matters."

In defiance of uglier rock stereotypes, Jon Bon Jovi does not have a history of substance abuse, and has never been to rehab, according to Men's Health.

However, his guitarist, Richie Sambora, has struggled with alcoholism in recent years.
