U.S. Rep. Steve Southerland (R-Fla.) has lost his re-election bid to Democrat Gwen Graham in Florida's 2nd District.

Southerland, who became the first incumbent member of the House to lose reelection Tuesday, was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2010. He didn't face a Republican challenger in this year's Republican primary.

Graham, who is the daughter of Democrat Bob Graham, Florida's popular former governor and senator, had attacked Southerland as tone-deaf on issues affecting women in the last few months of the race. Her campaign railed against his all-male fundraiser, his comments on lingerie and his representation of his past votes on domestic violence.
