Stolen Coffee Trailer Has Georgia Residents Buzzing

A stolen tractor trailer filled with Folger's coffee has people buzzing in Albany, Ga.

The truck, a 2010 Kenworth Daycab with a 2009 53-foot trailer worth $105,000, was stolen over the weekend from a local trucking company.

The cargo, 39,000 pounds of Folgers Coffee, is worth more than $139,000 dollars, according to WALB-TV.

Dougherty County Police Sgt. Chad Kirkpatrick doubts that there are enough caffeine addicts to buy up so much coffee.

"We have flea markets around here where people can sell just about anything, he told the station. "I don't know where else they can take it to sell that large an amount."

That's not the only brouhaha involving a truck theft in recent months.

Back in early May, thieves in Carlisle, Pa., stole a beer trailer loaded with about 1,800 cases of Corona, presumedly for the Cinco de Mayo holiday.

That same month, an ice cream truck was stolen from a parlor in Dania Beach, Fla., and the shop -- open since 1956 -- offered a lifetime supply of ice cream as a reward for the truck's safe return.

No word on whether either case is considered "cold."
