When you strutted onto the 2013 People's Choice Awards red carpet (I'm assuming dressed to break your ex-beau Harry Styles' heart) wearing a plunging white Ralph Lauren gown, pinned-up hair and sexy copper smokey eye makeup, I thought: "Damn, girl!"

Besides proving that cleavage is the best revenge, you also showed that giving your signature blunt bangs the night off could make for quite the mature beauty look. *Round of applause*

I certainly appreciate a set of fierce fringe (hello, Beyoncé!). However, I believe that your bangs, plus the virginal white dresses and cascading curls, has locked you into this never-ever-grow-up state. You're 23 years old and have been linked to 13 guys (give or take) in the past four years, so I'd say you're not a kid anymore. Aren't you tired of being labeled as "the pretty girl?" Why not aim for "lovely lady" or "beautiful young woman?"

I'm not saying you should go all "good girl gone bad" and chop off those long, blonde locks into an asymmetrical bob like Rihanna. But the expression on your face in the above photo (that sort of says, "Yeah, I just broke up with my boyfriend, but I still got it") goes to show that hair can make a difference in looking good. Or in this case, looking grown up.

Who knows, maybe switching up your predictable bangs hairstyles indefinitely for a classic updo could change your love life. A more grown-up hairstyle may attract a grown-up guy and produce a long-lasting relationship. Because the break up songs are getting played out ... literally.

Take a walk down memory lane in the slideshow below, then tell us in the comments section which hairstyle you like best on Taylor Swift.
