Teens Kill Homeless Man For One Dollar, Cops Say

Four Teens Accused Of Murdering Homeless Man Over One Dollar

A homeless man in Houston lost his life after alleged murderous thieves took everything he had: one solitary torn dollar bill.

Miguel Ramos, a 32-year-old homeless man who friends called a "damned good man" was allegedly attacked by four teens and shot dead in a dark alleyway on April 4, according to the Houston Chronicle. The four teenagers -- Carlos Fernandez, 18, Marilyn Villarreal, 18, Michael Correa, 17 and a female 16-year-old juvenile -- were looking for prostitutes to rob but couldn't find any, cops said.

Instead, they found Ramos.

At about 10:30 p.m., the four reportedly saw Ramos holding some chicken he bought from a nearby food truck. Cops said that they figured Ramos had money if he was able to buy chicken.

The alleged perps were heavily armed -- Fernandez with a .25 pistol, Correa with a .38 and the 16-year-old girl with a shotgun -- and confronted Ramos and his two buddies. Ramos' friends reportedly scuffled with the teens before the 16-year-old girl fired a shell at them -- but she missed.

Fernandez then shot Ramos in the heart and the four fled with his torn dollar, the girl told cops.

"Miguel was a damned good man," Ramos' friend Peter Welz told the Houston Chronicle.

Capital murder charges were filed Tuesday against all four teens, though the 16-year-old will face juvenile charges, according to CBS Houston.
