Terrell Owens Tells Iyanla Vanzant He Wants To Be A Better Person, Better Father (VIDEO)

WATCH: Terrell Owens Learns An 'Eye-Opening' Lesson

Since his 16-year career in the NFL ended, Terrell Owens has found himself in deep personal and financial crisis. He's turning to life coach Iyanla Vanzant, who will hold a series of heart-to-heart sessions with Owens on "Iyanla: Fix My Life" airing Saturday.

In the above video from the episode, Vanzant walks with Owens through his hometown of Alexander City, Ala., and asks him what went wrong.

"Obviously now I don't have a job, trying to rebuild," Owens says. "I've been finding out a lot of things about my financial situation with people that I trusted -- even friends."

"Let me clean this up right now," Vanzant says. "If money is the only problem, we ain't got no problem. Because money means My Own Natural Energy Yield. So the only problem with money is you," she says, pointing at Owens.

'There's a lot of issues beyond the money issue -- that's not the most important thing," Owens says. "I think for me it's becoming a better person, a better father. You know, trying to learn to be a man."

"You maximized your talents and didn't master your craft," Vanzant tells him. "Your first craft is being a man."

Vanzant tells Owens that his talent and skills on the field can only take him so far. "They can't sustain you," she says. "What sustains you is your character, your values, your vision, and those parts of you were undeveloped."

"That's eye opening," Owens says. "I understand, I understand it."

Vanzant's session with Owens on "Iyanla: Fix My Life" airs Saturday, November 2 at 9 p.m. ET on OWN.
