Texas Tech Fake Punt Touchdown vs. Texas Surprised Red Raiders Coach (VIDEO)

WATCH: Fake Punt Touchdown Stuns Everyone

Texas Tech punter Ryan Erxleben was nearly blocked in the first quarter against Texas on Thursday night. With a pair of Longhorns players closing in on him, Erxleben took matters into his own hands and took off running.

Erxleben ran to his right and sprinted down the sideline untouched en route to a 51-yard touchdown, giving the Red Raiders an early 7-0 lead.

The touchdown stunned Texas Tech coach Kliff Kingsbury, who revealed after the game that Erxleben called the fake punt on his own, per The Dallas Morning News.

Unfortunately for the Red Raiders, the fake punt touchdown was their lone highlight of the game. The Longhorns scored 20 unanswered points after Erxleben's touchdown and went on to win 41-16.
