The Internet Loves This Dad's Rad Moves At A Father-Daughter Dance

“Me and my daughter danced to every song. I was glad to be there for her.”

A dad in Texas ruled the dance floor at his kid’s father-daughter dance and has since won the internet’s heart.

Ray Mason’s 12-year-old daughter Sadie attends Caldwood Elementary School in Beaumont, Texas. Mason recently hit the dance floor at the school’s father-daughter dance. As Mason danced with his daughter, another parent, Tobias Jones, captured Mason’s moves on camera and shared it with local news station KFDM News. More than 2 million views later, Mason has become an internet sensation.

Mason told The Huffington Post that he and his daughter had “a good time” at the dance and that hardly any other parents were on the dance floor. He and Sadie danced enough for all of them though.

“Me and my daughter danced to every song,” he said. “I was glad to be there for her.”

The dancing dad said he grew up in the era when break dancing was popular, which influenced his moves at the dance. As for his internet fame, Mason said a lot of people knew about it before he did.

“Everyone kind of knew about it before me,” he told HuffPost. “It’s kind of cool. I’m just an average Joe. I work for a living, love my kids and try to live the American Dream like anybody.”

Sadie has also shown her full support for the viral video and her dad’s new popularity.

“She thinks it’s cooler than the other side of the pillow because that’s something I always say,” Mason said.
