This Is What New Yorkers Think About Those 'Muslims Are Coming' Ads

One ad reads "They shall strike with hugs so fierce, you'll end up calling your grandmother and telling her you love her."

Earlier this month, lighthearted ads for the comedic documentary "The Muslims Are Coming" made their debut in the New York City Subway after a hard fought legal battle with the Metropolitan Transit Authority.

While the MTA originally sought to ban the ads due to their policy that prohibits ads that are "political in nature," a federal court ruled that being Muslim was a religious, not political identity, and the ads were cleared to run.

Comedians Negin Farsad and Dean Obeidallah, who created the ads to combat Muslim stereotypes using humor, took to the streets of New York City to see what passersby thought of their campaign. Check it out in the video above.
