'The Pyramid': Yvette Nicole Brown And Danny Pudi Help Kick Off Latest Take On Classic Game Show (VIDEO)

'The Pyramid' Kicks Off With Yvette Nicole Brown, Danny Pudi

"The Pyramid" is back. The celebrity game show has existed under one title or another since 1973. This time they dropped the dollar amount from the title, but virtually nothing else about the addictive game show format has changed. Regular folks still work with celebrity partners to try and guess the various words based on clues.

For the premiere, producers tapped the stars of "Community," with Yvette Nicole Brown and Danny Pudi sitting in. Future celebrities already on tap, according to CinemaBlend, include Dot-Marie Jones, Kate Flannery, Chandra Wilson and Nick Turturro.

Mike Richards, who helped viewers navigate through "Beauty and the Geek," was brought in to host the festivities, and he did so with charm and gentle humor. The New York Daily News says of the new incarnation, "Even if you don’t think you care, you get caught up in the adrenaline of this mad sprint."

And that's the magic of game shows like "The Pyramid." If you catch a moment of it, you find yourself sticking around to see if they figure it out, and then until the end of the episode to see who wins. It's addictive television at its best.

Tune in to see who shows up on "The Pyramid," weeknights at 7 p.m. ET on GSN.
