You can't make this s**t up. With the recent "Marriage Ref" show featuring a couple arguing whether or not to have a 'stripper pole' in the living room, and pole dance classes popping up in suburban malls, you can understand how this situation fell out.

A well meaning dad rents a 'party bus' for his kid's sweet sixteen. He gets an irate phone call from his ex-wife who is thrilled to jump on this latest offense: "What are you thinking, renting a bus with a stripper pole! What kind of father are you?!"

The guy is horrified, and calls up the company, complaining that he needs a bus without a 'stripper pole'. The operator dryly responds: "Sir, that is a safety pole. You know, like the ones on the MTA buses?"

At which point he tells her of his ex-wife's accusation and the operator"s retort: "She can just suck it". And he says: "If she did, we wouldn't be in this situation to begin with."

Enough said? Stripper poles are in mainstream culture people; think of that parents as you rent those buses for the upcoming graduation parties!

And by the way, the husband in The Marriage Ref show tried to call it an 'exercise pole'. I forget whose side won.

Happy Spring!
