Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) is recovering after he collapsed while running a race in Washington, D.C., Wednesday morning.
Tillis posted a video to Twitter from the hospital, assuring viewers he was “fine.” He said he got overheated about two and a half miles into the American Council of Life Insurers Capital Challenge, a three-mile team race in Anacostia Park.
“No CPR, no special measures, just checking me out,” Tillis said. “See you back on the Hill.”
Tillis had tweeted about the race earlier Wednesday.
WUSA9’s Debra Alfarone tweeted a photo of Tillis being helped during the race.
Tillis’ colleagues, including Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), were quick to offer up their prayers for the senator.
