Tia And Tamera Mowry Discuss The Challenges Facing A 'Sister, Sister' Reboot

“They’re rebooting all the other shows, it would be nice to see a show with women of color."

Tia and Tamera Mowry may have sparked an internet stampede by talking about a possible “Sister, Sister” reboot on “The Real.”

Tia Mowry-Hardrict came on her sister’s show to promote their Twintuition children’s book, but the hosts couldn’t pass up the chance to ask the duo about the rumors surrounding a “Sister, Sister” revival. The twins revealed that there were a few obstacles in the way.

“Everything that my sister and I have done, it’s never been easy. We always find that we have to work extra hard,” Tamera admitted to the hosts. “We don’t know why.”

“There’s always some sort of challenge,” Tia added.

Essentially, it sounds as if networks are a little hesitant to go pick-up yet another sitcom reboot. The girls encouraged fans of the show to push for “Sister, Sister” via social media while “The Real” co-host Adrienne Bailon talked about how important the project would be for minority communities.

“They’re rebooting all the other shows, it would be nice to see a show with women of color,” Bailon said.

“Sister, Sister” was once part of ABC’s famous TGIF lineup and held its own with big ratings. Tamera told HollywoodLife last year that the entire cast was interested in bringing back the hit sitcom, which touched on topics such as tensions between races and social classes.

But no matter what happens with a reboot, “The Real” hosts made sure to give fans a special treat. The twins were supposed to do a “Sister, Sister” trivia game moderated by Loni Love, but their former co-star Marques Houston, who played their neighbor Roger on the ‘90s show, surprised them and lead the segment.

Of course, the Mowry sisters ended the segment with their favorite “Sister, Sister” line: “Go home, Roger!”
